Some quality work from recent LCC graduate Ashley Colbeck, check out his site Vorm. I particularly like the annual report project shown above. Smashed and grabbed from The Fleuron.

Spotted on the excellent Book Cover Archive Blog, Jason Gabbert’s designs for the CS Lewis Signature Series. Other niceties in his portfolio (a Cargo site – which you see a lot of these days, just as much as Indexhibit ones, or so it seems).

Spotted the new Penguin Magnum Collection in Borders this weekend, grouped together looking lovely (and also appearing on the increasingly design-conscious Esquire website). A simple idea beautifully executed: classic American reportage matched with images from the Magnum photography archive. Not sure who’s responsible for the design though – any ideas?

“Printed Matter” is very nice project by Evelin Kasikov. It’s about craft within the context of graphic design. She developed a special hand embroidery technique based on the analysis of optical mixture and colour printing processes. There is much more on her website!

“The Clock Clock” by Humans Since 1982 is a digital clock made from 24 analogue ones. Those 24 aren’t real clocks anymore like you can see in the video. But still nice. Here are 2 other similar clocks projects worth checking out: O’clock and Christaan Postma Clock.

72 Rivington Street is the new physical home of YCN, a multi-purpose space comprising a public ground floor, two floors of studio and a rooftop too. The space has been designed for YCN by the Klassnik corporation, with interiors installed by OKAY Studio and Rob Thuring. Looks a great space, especially liking the furniture system. Check here for more photos and info.
